When the Colts traded their first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, they thought they were adding one of the final pieces of the puzzle to a team that could win the Super Bowl. That year the Colts lost in the wild card round, they haven’t been back to the playoffs since, and Buckner is getting sick and tired of losing.

An emotional Buckner told reporters at his locker after today’s loss to the Titans that he won’t tolerate it.

“I’m sick and tired of the same song and dance every year,” Buckner said. “We lost to the Tennessee Titans, who were 0-5, and now they’re 1-5.”

Asked specifically if he means that he has lost confidence in coach Shane Steichen or General Manager Chris Ballard, Buckner said that’s not what he means.

“I have confidence in everybody in this building,” Buckner said.

Still, Buckner says he wants more out of his teammates.

“Every single person on the team needs to be critics of themselves and figure out what we need to do better,” Buckner said.
