Colorado football held a 7-3 halftime lead in Week 5's game amid an injury to a Texas Tech Red Raiders star. The idealistic college football setting brought out the stars including Nuggets legend Nikola Jokic, but coach Deion Sanders' Buffaloes were dominated 26-0 en route a second half loss.
The heart-wrenching 26-7 home setback caused Sanders to make an emphatic statement after the game indicating the scoreboard didn't tell the full story.
“The score is not indicative of who we are,” Sanders said following the game.

Lewis' running ability was missed but Wilson looked like the right choice before halftime as his passing helped the Buffs grab a four-point lead. Sanders said he hoped that replacing Lewis would give his team a spark, and it did before the bottom fell out amid a second half that included three interceptions, all thrown by his new starter.
By the time the dust settled, Wilson had 290 yards passing but his turnovers cost Sanders' team dearly in a loss that sent Colorado spiraling downward to a 2-3 record on the season. Meanwhile, coach Joey McGuire's No. 12 Red Raiders moved to 5-0, putting themselves in position for a realistic chance at a College Football Playoff run this season in the Big 12 Conference.
The Red Raiders showed once again how far away Sanders' team is from a Playoff contender. Travis Hunter, Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders are long gone, but the Buffaloes insist they are relevant on the national scene. ‘Coach Prime' and his team look like they will have trouble qualifying for a bowl game let alone a Playoff spot. If something doesn't change soon, Sanders risks losing the support of his fans, many of whom have grown tired of the same disappointing results in Boulder.
