The Buffalo Bills scrapped by the Houston Texans 36-31 in their season opener last Sunday. But it wasn't without bumps along the way.
Safety Cole Bishop left the game with a minor leg/knee injury but returned after halftime.
On Tuesday, Bishop showed up with a sleeve on his leg and missed practice, per Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. A bad sign that could be something more serious.
The Bills are set to begin their home opener against the Detroit Lions on Thursday. It is now unclear if Bishop will play.
Against the Texans, Bishop finished with 7 combined tackles: 2 solo and 5 assisted. He left in the second quarter after colliding with Texans RB David Montgomery.
Bishop has been with Buffalo since coming into the league in 2024 out of the University of Utah.
Last year, he played in 17 games and recorded 53 total tackles and three interceptions.
Meanwhile, the Bills finished the season at 12-5. They defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Wild Card Game. Ultimately, the Bills' season endedÃÂ in the Divisional Round against the Denver Broncos, 33-30 in OT.
During minicamp in June, Bishop missed time due to a knee procedure. It was to address a minor cleanup procedure.
During training camp in August, Bishop had to leave practice early. It was ultimately a minor lower back issue, but no serious problems emerged.
His numbers over the last year show Bishop as an emerging star for a serious contending team. He is also forming a unit with veteran C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
Bishop's injury status remains unknown.
