Tennis superstar Coco Gauff is continuing to make an impact beyond the court, this time serving up another major investment in the next generation of HBCU students.
The Grand Slam champion announced an additional $150,000 donation to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) in January 2026, bringing her total contributions to $250,000 in support of students attending historically Black colleges and universities.
While Gauff has made a name for herself as one of the brightest stars in professional tennis, she's also using her platform to help create opportunities for young Black scholars. Her latest contribution builds on her commitment to making higher education more accessible and ensuring that HBCU students have the financial support they need to pursue their academic and career goals.
The donation will continue supporting the Coco Gauff Scholarship Program, an initiative designed to help HBCU student-athletes balance their academic responsibilities with the demands of playing competitive tennis. The additional funding follows Gauff's initial $100,000 contribution in February 2025, further expanding her investment in the next generation of student-athletes.
Although Gauff did not attend an HBCU herself, she has expressed her appreciation for the importance of education and the work UNCF does to help students succeed.
“I am honored once again to give back and support the incredible work that UNCF does to help HBCU students get to and through college. Education has the power to change lives, and I hope this gift will help students achieve their dreams,” Gauff said in a statement released by UNCF.

In UNCF's official announcement, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer Maurice E. Jenkins Jr. praised Gauff's continued generosity and commitment to expanding educational opportunities.
“We are immensely grateful to Coco Gauff for her generosity and ongoing commitment to our mission,” Jenkins said. “As a role model both on and off the court, Gauff's philanthropic efforts continue to inspire young people across the nation. This donation is a testament to her belief in the transformative power of education.”
