With Clemson football head coach Dabo Swinney starting Christopher Vizzina to begin the season, he won't be able to play in next Saturday's contest against the University of North Carolina.

According to Matt Zenitz at CBS Sports, Vizzina sustained an elbow injury in Saturday's win over Georgia Southern, with the expectation being that he misses Week 3. Meaning, freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds will be the starter for the Tigers.

“Clemson quarterback Christopher Vizzina suffered an elbow injury vs. Georgia Southern yesterday and is currently expected to miss at least the Tigers’ upcoming game against North Carolina, sources tell [CBS Sports],” Zenitz wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Freshman Tait Reynolds is expected to start vs. UNC.”
