Following first-year running back Emmett Johnson's breakout 143-yard game vs. the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs superfan Eric Stonestreet wants fans to vote for him for Rookie of the Week.

The Modern Family star took to X, formerly Twitter, to call on fans to vote for Johnson, saying, “Come on [Chiefs fans]! Not only is [he] a great player, [but] he's an awesome dude! Vote for Emmett!”

He has some stiff competition, as Mike Washington Jr., Jonah Coleman, and Wesley Bailey are all up for the award. Luckily for Johnson, he had the most yards out of the running backs, and Washington didn't score a touchdown. We'll see if he pulls it off. Voting closes on Thursday, Nov. 5.

While the Chiefs lost, Johnson looked like a star. Kansas City has a star running back in Kenneth Walker III, but Johnson plays a vital role when the reigning Super Bowl MVP needs a break and on special teams.

He hasn't gotten a lot of carries over the last month of the season—only logging four carries in the Chiefs' last four outings—but Johnson made his impact in the passing game in Week 8.

Johnson caught five passes for 128 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos, including a long 73-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes. This was by far his best game of the year, even if he only carried the ball once for 15 yards.

The Chiefs might have found something in Johnson as a threat in the passing game. Expect to see more of him when Kansas City plays the New York Jets in Week 9.

Kansas City drafted Johnson in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Nebraska. He broke out in 2025, logging 1,451 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. He also showed off his wide receiver skills in 2025, catching 46 passes for 370 yards and three touchdowns.
