Mahomes recently revealed that his kids left him a message before his first start in 10 months. His family “motivated” him to keep going in his rehab.

His children were proud of him for finishing his rehab, with one of them saying, “Good job for all your rehab. We're so happy that you get to play football again, and we get to watch you. You're the best daddy in the world!”

In Week 15, Mahomes tore his ACL against the Los Angeles Chargers. He got surgery the following day to repair his ACL and LCL. Over the coming months, he worked nonstop to be medically cleared to play in Week 1.
