The Kansas City Chiefs were dealt an early blow against the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday after cornerback Mansoor Delane suffered a shoulder injury.
It happened in the first quarter after he intercepted a deep pass from quarterback Bo Nix in the first drive of the Broncos. Delane landed hard as he was tackled at the end of his five-yard return. He exited the field and went straight to the locker room.
According to ESPN's Nate Taylor, Delane was questionable to return.
âÂÂDelane entered training camp with a right shoulder injury that held him out of the Chiefs' preseason opener,â noted Taylor on X.
Delane's interception led to a touchdown for the Chiefs, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes rushing for the 15-yard score.
As of this writing, Kansas City is ahead of Denver in the second quarter.
More details to come.
