A new leader emerged in the race to land the top pick of the 2027 NFL Draft Sunday. The Miami Dolphins just placed the Los Angeles Chargers at the top there. All thanks to Miami stunning the New York Jets.
The Dolphins left LAC as the last winless team left in claiming the 28-25 victory. And that win becomes the first for head coach Jeff Hafley. But out in Los Angeles, Miami's win doesn't bode well for the Chargers. Unless there are fans who hope to see the Bolts land the top overall pick.
There's a growing population of fans who believe the string has run out for quarterback Justin Herbert. The past first round selection and Pro Bowler hasn't won a playoff game in his career. Furthermore, he's thrown more interceptions (eight) than touchdowns (five). Still, his head coach Jim Harbaugh insist he's got lots of confidence in his passer despite the stunning 0-6 start.
But the Chargers would walk into a growingly intriguing QB class for the April draft. Texas quarterback Arch Manning helped reignite his stock by beating top 10 opponent Ole Miss on Saturday. The Rebels' Trinidad Chambliss also is garnering praise and comes with a College Football Playoff background.

Plus he's thriving in the same Air Raid system that produced Kansas City Chiefs three-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes.
So the Bolts now sit with the top pick in the draft. Of course, it could change throughout the course of the year.
