The Los Angeles Chargers are one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL in 2026. LA entered the season with playoff hopes, but now are just one of three teams to start 0-5. Could the Chargers be bigger sellers before the NFL's trade deadline on November 10th?
ESPN's Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler shared intel from around the league in a recent article. They speculated on which players could be moved before the trade deadline. A few Chargers players came up in that discussion.
Graziano seemed to warm up to the idea that LA could have a fire sale at the deadline. However, they may not be shopping any elite talent.
“Someone the other day mentioned the possibility of a Chargers fire sale, and my response was, ‘Who wants them?' But you're right. Teams will have an eye on potentially helpful players from a Chargers roster that obviously hasn't come together,” Graziano wrote.
Khalil Mack could be a valuable trade piece, especially for a contending team in need of pass rush help. But Graziano also pointed to wide receiver Quentin Johnston as a possible trade candidate.
“Veteran edge rusher Khalil Mack is the big name, but Johnston is certainly intriguing,” Graziano added. “A potential hang-up is that fully guaranteed $18 million fifth-year option for 2027, but Johnston just turned 25, has obvious talent and could benefit from a change of scenery.”
Article Continues BelowJohnston was just getting his career on track before this 2026 disaster season. He logged two consecutive years with 50+ receptions, 700+ receiving yards, and eight touchdowns. Unfortunately, he's struggled to make much of an impact with LA's offense stuck in the mud. Johnston only has seven receptions for 108 receiving yards on 19 targets through five games.
At this point, it seems almost impossible that the Chargers could turn around the season. If they don't start stacking wins soon, multiple players could be traded at the deadline. That could be difficult as their schedule does not let up anytime soon.
Next up for the Chargers is a Week 6 matchup against the Chiefs.
