Jim Harbaugh came to Justin Herbert's defense once again following the Los Angeles Chargers' continued struggles in their latest 24-9 loss to the Rams on Sunday afternoon.

Harbaugh has been the Chargers' head coach since 2024, going through his third season with the franchise. Following back-to-back years of playoff appearances, the veteran coach seems to have approached his biggest obstacle yet.

Los Angeles is winless seven games into the season. They are at the bottom of the standings with the worst record in the league, immensely struggling on the offensive side of the ball.

Harbaugh reflected on the team's latest performance after the loss to the Rams, per reporter Eric Williams. He rejected the idea of benching Herbert, emphasizing it to be a team game as it requires all sides of the ball to play well to win games.

“First of all, it's a team effort. We're gonna look at the film. We're gonna address our issues where we can get better, and that's just keep working. That's highly motivated and dedicated to getting this right. We're the only ones that have had the opportunity to change it, to fix it, and that's what we're gonna do. Go back to work, and not being in this position that many times either as a coach. I know we got to be dedicated ourselves to getting this turned [around]. That's where we're at,” Harbaugh said.

I asked Jim Harbaugh if he considered benching Justin Herbert and he said “No.”

On continuing to let Mike McDaniel calling plays, Harbaugh said it’s a team effort, that most players in the locker room have never been in this position before and they will keep working. pic.twitter.com/9czq89eJYl
