The Oklahoma City Thunder officially opened the 2026-27 NBA season with a clash at home against their conference rival San Antonio Spurs. As of publication, the Thunder were comfortably ahead by 20+ points at halftime. And during the official pregame introductions, Thunder guard Cason Wallace pulled a Greg Hardy reference when he introduced himself from ‘Clamps University’ instead of where he actually went to school, as per NBC.
Cason Wallace’s Thunder introduction was an NFL callback to when Carolina Panthers player Greg Hardy introduced himself as Kraken from Hogwarts during a pregame intro video back in 2013. Wallace, of course, attended Kentucky and played one season under John Calipari before declaring for the NBA Draft.
His decision to say Clamps University as his college was no doubt a reference to his reputation as a defensive disruptor. Stay tuned for more coverage on the Thunder’s opening night game against the Spurs.C
