The Arizona Cardinals are staying the course with quarterback Jacboy Brissett. Meanwhile, at least one person thinks the Dallas Cowboys don't need trade deadline help. These teams meet in Week 8, and here are bold predictions for the NFL contest.

The Cowboys are 3-4, but they play in a woefully weak NFC East. They’re still favored to win the division. It’s a far different world for the Cardinals, who stand at 2-5 and are buried in last place in one of the NFL’s toughest divisions, the NFC West.

Let’s take a look at what to expect.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will throw 3 TD passes again

Prescott didn’t have to do much against the Eagles as the Cowboys ran the ball at will. But he still had three touchdown throws. This will be more of the same, with a lot of runs and Prescott finishing off drives with TD passes.

No matter what Stephen A. Smith says, Prescott is still that dude. Of course, it seems like Smith will say anything to keep his show in the spotlight. He questioned whether the Cowboys still have confidence in Prescott on First Take via Sports Illustrated.

“This is my interpretation,” Smith said. “I believe there's a lack of confidence, supreme confidence in Dak Prescott. You believe in him, you're paying him, but in the same breath, you're understanding the importance of having that balanced running attack. Because when you just have him dropping back the pass that football, you're not satisfied with the level of production that you're getting.”

Whatever. The only way Prescott might not have a big game is if the Cardinals’ defense gets gashed for 5-, 10-, and 20-yard TD runs. Oh, well, that is possible. The Cardinals have a rotten defense.

Cowboys WR George Pickens will catch multiple TD passes

Here’s the trick: Prescott will be able to pick and choose who he wants to get the TD catches. And since Lamb has already been well established with six TD receptions in 2026, look for Prescott to make sure Pickens, who has two, closes the gap.

With 16 fewer catches than Lamb on the season, it’s not a stretch to see Pickens get double-digit grabs in this contest. Now, Pickens is banged up, but it’s probably one of those mid-week no-biggies. The injuries are to his shoulder and hamstring, according to NBC Sports.

“Pickens played through a minor shoulder injury last week, but the hamstring designation is new,” Aditya Fuldeore wrote. “He was still a limited practice participant, indicating neither injury should be an issue for his Week 8 status.”

Both receivers are supremely confident, as Lamb expressed, according to dallasnews.com.

“I think that’s pretty self-explanatory, to be honest,” Lamb said. “Once we get going, I don’t think there's … nah, I know for a fact, there’s not a person in this league that can stop us.”

And Pickens said he’s learning patience.

“It’s just super important just because that can boost the morale of the team when you just wait your turn,” Pickens said. “Whether you’re a running back, tight end, you make your play that boosts the offense.”

Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett will throw for 280-plus yards

It has been an up-and-down season for the veteran quarterback. But this is a game where volume will lead to yardage, even if it is in a game that winds up with a no-so-close loss.

Brissett seems to be on the verge of losing his starting job. So look for him to be focused and effective at times.

Head coach Mike LaFleur said the offensive issues aren’t all on Brissett, according to NBC Sports.

“Like I told you guys, he’s still the starter,” LaFleur said, via transcript from the team. “It’s collective. Again, if the ball was just stagnant for 60 minutes and you couldn’t even cross the 50-yard line, it’d be one thing. We’ve been down inside the 10-yard line 10 times over the last two games, so the ball is moving, but we have to finish jobs. Again, that starts with me, but that’s a collective effort.

“The players have to go execute. And I have to put them in better positions and give them the clarity to go do so. When they do have that clarity, they have to make the plays. We know that. We’re not going to shy away from that. We know we have to finish the job when we’re down there, and I don’t even think we’re having these conversations right now [if we had].”
