Cardinals cornerback Will Johnson may have played his final snap of the 2026 season.
Johnson was placed on injured reserve by the team on Wednesday. He suffered a neck injury in Arizona’s Week 2 loss to the Seahawks and head coach Mike LaFleur said in a press conference this week that he could miss the rest of the season as a result.
Johnson was a 2025 second-round pick and he played 12 games as a rookie. He had eight tackles and a fumble recovery while starting both of the Cardinals’ games this season.
The Cardinals signed cornerback Starling Thomas off of the practice squad in a corresponding move. Thomas missed all of last season after tearing his ACL in training camp, but started 22 games over the previous two seasons.
