With it being a slow start for Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., there's no denying that there is chatter from the football world about his status on the team. While rumors surround Harrison and the Cardinals, head coach Mike LaFleur would give his thoughts on the conversation around the 24-year-old.

As Harrison was drafted by Arizona with the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the results have been underwhelming, to say the least, with the hope that 2026 could be the season he breaks out. Through two games, he's only recorded one catch for 33 yards, totaling four targets, as he only got one pass looked his way in last Sunday's 31-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

When asked about Harrison, LaFleur would say he's aware of the talking points on the receiver and how the young player is “attacking it every single day.”

“Yeah, Marv seems like Marv to me. You know, I'm not going to sit here and act like I don't know the narrative going on. I mean, this is the league, and you know, naturally stuff gets across my desk,” LaFleur said, via PHNX Cardinals. “But in between those walls, Marv is Marv. He's attacking it every single day, like he always does, just like his teammates do. I appreciate the way he goes about his business.”

Cardinals' Marvin Harrison Jr. speaks on his process

It could be easy for someone to lose faith in Harrison, but the Cardinals haven't, as quarterback Jacoby Brissett emphasized that “nobody’s lost confidence in Marv,” according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Harrison gave his thoughts on whether his process has changed with the recent disappointment.

“My process isn’t going to change whether I get zero catches or 10 catches. I’m going to still do the same thing week in and week out, Monday through Saturday to prepare myself for games,” Harrison said, via ESPN.

At any rate, it remains to be seen if Harrison can turn a corner, as the next opportunity is in Arizona's next game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
