The loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday proved to be extra costly for the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns were blown out by the Jaguars, 34-10, at EverBank Stadium, spoiling the debut of coach Todd Monken. They had no answer for Trevor Lawrence, who threw for 245 yards and four touchdowns in a masterful showing.

Cleveland also lost a key piece of the offense after Dylan Sampson suffered a knee injury. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the second-year running back will be sidelined for an extended period.

“Browns RB Dylan Sampson is expected to miss significant time due to the knee injury suffered Sunday in Jacksonville, per sources. Sampson was spotted on crutches after the game,” wrote Fowler on X.

Sampson exited the game in the first quarter. He went to the locker room and did not return to the contest. He recorded two kickoff returns for 64 yards.

It was a sorry development for the 22-year-old sophomore, who was hoping to play a bigger role this season.

In his rookie year, he tallied 65 carries for 175 rushing yards in 15 games. He also logged 33 receptions for 271 yards and two touchdowns.
