The Cleveland Browns narrowly fell to the New York Jets in Week 5, losing by a score of 17-12. Even so, Cleveland has far exceeded expectations so far. The team traded away Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett in the offseason, and their quarterback competition between Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Taylen Green was considered to be the most bleak in the league by many.

A season near or at the bottom of the standings was expected for Cleveland. Instead, they are 3-2, and the fanbase has rallied behind Watson. One big reason for their success is Carson Schwesinger. Last year's Defensive Rookie of the Year has quickly established himself as one of the best linebackers in football.

Unfortunately, Schwesinger suffered an ankle sprain in the Browns' Week 5 loss. The Grade 1 sprain might not hold him out of action in Week 6, though. According to Ian Rapoprt, Schwesinger's availability will depend on how he responds during practice this week.

The linebacker wasn't the only player hurt in Week 5. Rookie standout KC Concepcion was knocked out of the game after a hit to the head. Quinshon Judkins was also seen in a walking boot after the game. The Browns' young core consists of some exciting players, but injuries are always tough to overcome. Schwesinger, who has 199 combined career tackles, has a strip-sack of Geno Smith in Cleveland's last game, something that reportedly happened after he suffered his injury.
