Denver Broncos linebacker/edge rusher Jonathon Cooper has yet to make his 2026-27 season debut as he's been on the NFL commissioner's exempt list due to an alleged domestic violence dispute during the offseason. With Week 6 already completed for Denver, Cooper was given an official return date with the club.

Reports indicate that the 28-year-old is being reinstated from the commissioner's exemption list and will be eligible to play again come Week 7, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. From the sound of it, Cooper can join his teammates in practice in the week leading up to the Broncos' next game against the Arizona Cardinals.

“The NFL has reinstated Broncos OLB Jonathan Cooper from the commissioner's exemption list, sources tell Ringer, Netflix Sports,” Pelissero reported. “Cooper missed Denver’s first six games as the league investigates a potential personal conduct violation. But he’s now eligible to play starting next week.”
