The Denver Broncos are sitting at 6-2 at this point in the season. They are coming off a big win over the Kansas City Chiefs, thanks to a comeback led by quarterback Bo Nix. In fact, this sort of victory is not uncommon for Denver since Nix's arrival in the NFL.
Nix has led 15 game-winning drives and 12 fourth-quarter comebacks since his debut in 2024. This leads all quarterbacks in the NFL during this span. These totals are also tied for the most in NFL history for a quarterback through their first three seasons in the league.
On Wednesday, Nix responded to his reputation as a clutch quarterback.
“It's an important quality in a player. I think everybody's looking at you when the pressure's on. When a player is called to play his best, it's when everybody knows this is the opportunity and everyone looks at the quarterback to see how he responds… I'd much rather be ‘Big Clutch' than the other way around,” the Broncos quarterback said, via DNVR Broncos.
To Nix's credit, the Broncos have had a ton of success with him as quarterback. Denver made it to the AFC Championship Game last season, nearly making the Super Bowl. Had Nix not suffered an injury prior to the AFC Championship Game, Denver may have advanced.
This season, Denver has once again figured out how to win games. Nix and his Broncos are now leading the AFC West with a 6-2 record. They have knocked the Chiefs off the top spot. Kansas City has now lost two in a row after starting the year 5-0.
Nix has had his struggles, to be fair. But the Broncos are winning games, and their quarterback shows out when it matters most. The Broncos are in action again on Sunday when they take on the Carolina Panthers.
