The Milwaukee Brewers haven't had much time for sleep since winning the World Series on Wednesday. They celebrated in the locker room in Tampa Bay after defeating the Rays before traveling back to Milwaukee and attending Thursday night's Green Bay Packers game. On Friday, the team had its World Series parade in Milwaukee, and expected National League Cy Young winner Jacob Misiorowski admitted he's running on almost no sleep, via MLB.
“No, not at all. Yeah, we're running on probably two, three hours (of sleep),” Misiorowski told FOX6 while standing on a float during the World Series parade.
Players dream of winning a championship and everything that comes with it. Winning the Fall Classic means everything to Misiorowski.
“I mean, this is the pinnacle,” Misiorowski later said. “This is what you play for, so it's a lot of fun.”
As for the World Series parade itself, Misiorowski is excited to celebrate with the fans.
“It's amazing, it's a lot of fun. It's awesome to have this city behind us and celebrate with us. It means a lot to these fans, so it's amazing.”
Jacob Misiorowski enjoyed one of the best overall seasons in recent memory. During the regular season, he turned in a sparkling 1.80 ERA to go along with 252 strikeouts — with both marks leading the league. He was stellar in the postseason as well, pitching to a 1.89 ERA. The Miz allowed no runs and only two hits across 5.2 innings of work in Milwaukee's series-clinching Game 5 win in Tampa Bay.
He's a true ace, and now he's also a World Series champion.
