Patrick Kane has already cemented his legacy as the face of the 2010s Chicago Blackhawks dynasty, but he can still pad his Hall of Fame NHL credentials before skating off into the sunset. The 20-year forward notched a special milestone during Thursday night's showdown with the Winnipeg Jets, overtaking Phil Housley for 21st on the all-time assists list. He is now ranked higher in that category than any other American-born player.

Kane's 895th career apple fittingly came on captain Connor Bedard's first goal of the season and gave Chicago a 1-0 lead in the first period. One Blackhawks legend makes history by helping out the man tapped to revive the franchise. Sports can be quite poetic sometimes, and fans witnessed a beautiful verse inside the United Center.
