Joe Burrow thrives under pressure. The Cincinnati Bengals star lives for the brightest moments. Even when everything is seemingly against him, he's resilient enough to weather the storm. This tenacity against a hostile environment allowed him to perform to his best in the college football scene, and it continues to this day in the NFL.

Burrow's love for the big moment was evident in his latest comments. The Bengals played their first road game in Week 2 against the Houston Texans, and they won that game 20-6. Speaking to the media days after the game, Burrow said that sometimes, he enjoys playing on the road more than playing at home.

“I've always loved playing on the road,” Burrow said, per Ari Meirov. “I've always enjoyed that almost more than playing at home. Just like you can feed off of your home crowd's energy, you can feed off of an away crowd's energy too, positively and negatively. There's no better feeling than scoring a big touchdown on the road and again, really quiet, but you can still hear a couple of the Bengals fans in the stands.”

Interestingly, the statistics paint a rather similar picture. While Burrow's completion percentage was worse on the road last season, the Bengals star made up for it by throwing 11 touchdowns last year compared to the six he threw at home. It really does seem like Burrow relishes the chance to shut a raucous crowd up with his play. Burrow is 7-3 in his last ten road games.

Against the Texans on the crowd, Burrow was solid. He completed nearly 65% of his pass attempts for 207 yards, throwing two touchdowns to zero interceptions. The Bengals' turnover-free offensive output perfectly complemented their lockdown defense. Cincinnati played a brand of complementary football that fans haven't seen all that much in the last few years.

The Bengals will now travel to yet another hostile environment: the Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the loudest fanbases. That, combined with the history of the two teams, makes it another high-energy game for Joe Burrow. Can the star quarterback silence yet another home crowd?
