Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow entered Sunday's game against the Houston Texans dealing with a physical issue.

Burrow was listed as questionable before kickoff and had missed practice time during the week because of back tightness. After the game, which Cincinnati won 20-6, the three-time Pro Bowler offered a hilarious explanation for how the issue seemingly fixed itself while speaking with Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr.

“You guys popped my rib back into place. I appreciate that,” Burrow told Anderson.

 

The comment came after Houston's defensive front repeatedly put pressure on Burrow. He was sacked five times during the Bengals victory, with Anderson finishing with eight tackles, including four solo stops, one sack, three tackles for loss and two quarterback hits.

When Burrow was later asked about his remark, he responded smilingly:

“I don't know what you're talking about, man.”

Despite taking his fair share of lumps, Burrow turned in an efficient performance. He completed 20 of 31 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns without throwing an interception. He also rushed once for minus-1 yard.

Burrow's two touchdown passes both went to Ja'Marr Chase, who responded to a quiet season opener with a strong performance. Chase recorded seven receptions for 75 yards, including touchdown catches of 32 and 18 yards.

The first touchdown came late in the second quarter, when Chase made a difficult 32-yard grab while keeping his toe in bounds to give Cincinnati a 7-0 advantage. Burrow called the catch one of the best he had ever seen. Chase later added an 18-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter to extend the Bengals lead to 17-3.

Tee Higgins also contributed five catches for 95 yards.

Cincinnati improved to 2-0 with the win, while the Texans fell to 0-2. Houston quarterback CJ Stroud completed 30 of 55 passes for 353 yards, but the Texans failed to score a touchdown and managed only 18 rushing yards from its running backs.

The Bengals will visit the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday, with Burrow entering the matchup having completed 68.2% of his passes through two games while throwing three touchdowns and one interception.
