The Chicago Bears have been decimated by injuries in the quarterback room on the heels of their recent home loss to the Minnesota Vikings. First, Caleb Williams went down at the end of that game with what has since been revealed to be a hamstring injury, and now, backup Tyson Bagent is in the concussion protocol.

If neither is able to go on Monday night, the Bears would have to turn to veteran Case Keenum as their starter against the Philadelphia Eagles' elite defense.

Recently, head coach Ben Johnson kept it real about that potential scenario.

“He's been a baller from I think the day that he was born, from what I can tell. He's got that way about him. He's got a knack, his teammates gravitate to him. … In a lot of ways, he might be a step slower than when he first entered the league, and yet his mind is going too fast, it helps catch him on up.

“He's playing as good of football as he probably has his whole career is what he would tell you,” he said, per Chris Emma of The Score on X, formerly Twitter.

Clearly, Johnson isn't worried about the prospect of having to send Keenum onto the field on Monday, even if there might be quite a bit of rust to shake off in the process.

Even before Williams' injury, the Bears' offense was largely shut down against the Vikings after putting up a 50-piece the week before against the Carolina Panthers, giving Johnson and his staff plenty to think about this week heading into the Eagles matchup.

Kickoff for that game is set for Monday at 8:15 pm ET from Chicago.
