The Chicago Bears will be facing the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, but there is still some uncertainty about who will be the starting quarterback. As of now, Case Keenum seems like the best bet, as Caleb Williams didn't practice this week because of his hamstring injury, and neither did Tyson Bagent, who is in concussion protocol.

That left Keenum as the quarterback taking first-team reps this week, and it looks like the veteran is ready to be the QB1 if his name is called. What gives him even more confidence is having head coach Ben Johnson calling the plays, who he believes is one of the best in the league.

“You want to run through a brick wall for the man. And if I get a chance to have that guy in my ear, golly, man, he's going to go down as probably the best play caller, play designer, coach — all of the above — when it's all said and done,” Keenum said via Adam Hoge of CHGO Bears.

The last time that Keenum played in a regular-season game was 2023 when he was with the Houston Texans. That means that Keenum should be fresh, and he feels good going into a week where he'll probably start.

“I feel as good mentally as I've ever felt,” Keenum said via ESPN's Courtney Cronin. “Being able to see things before they happen, having a lot of banked reps. So stuff I've done in the past, maybe we're not getting a ton of reps of it this week, but feel good about if I'm playing to be the one to run those plays. I think as far as operationally goes, I think we can do a lot of things pre-snap, try to get the right play when we can, and I think we can do a lot of fun stuff.”
