Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams earned significant praise from Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores following his monster performance in a 59-37 Week 1 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

With the Bears (1-0) preparing to host the Vikings (1-0) in Week 2, Flores labeled the third-year quarterback a “superstar” while discussing the challenges Minnesota's defense will face against Chicago's offense.

The Athletic's Alec Lewis shared Flores' comments Tuesday via X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Vikings DC Brian Flores talked a lot today about this forthcoming game against the Bears. Was very complimentary of what Ben Johnson does and called QB Caleb Williams ‘a superstar in this league.’”

Williams gave Flores and the Vikings plenty to prepare for with his performance against Carolina.

The 24-year-old completed 21 of 29 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns while finishing with a 124.1 passer rating. Williams also recorded a 94.9 QBR in the blowout victory.

However, Williams did not limit his impact to the passing game. He rushed 10 times for 65 yards and two additional touchdowns, giving him four total scores in Chicago's season-opening victory.

The performance provided a strong start to Williams' third NFL season as he continues developing under Bears head coach Ben Johnson. Chicago's offense scored 59 points in the opener, placing another challenge in front of Flores' defense heading into the divisional matchup.

Minnesota will now be tasked with containing Williams both through the air and on the ground as the Vikings attempt to spoil Chicago's home opener.

The Bears and Vikings each enter the NFC North matchup at 1-0, giving Williams an opportunity to follow his dominant Week 1 showing with another strong performance against a divisional opponent.
