The Chicago Bears recently improved to 3-1 with a comfortable home win over the New York Jets. The Bears are currently trying to weather the storm with starting quarterback Caleb Williams out of the lineup due to a hamstring strain he suffered against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.

Now, the Bears have made an interesting roster move as the season continues.

“Bears are signing veteran WR Scotty Miller to their practice squad,” reported NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

Miller was a 2019 draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won a Super Bowl the following year.

He most recently played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, recording nine catches in 13 games for them last season before hitting free agency.

It remains to be seen if Miller will get a call-up to the main squad this year, but it's certainly an interesting move for general manager Ryan Poles and company as they look to add more depth to the wide receiver room.

That unit has mostly performed well for Chicago this year, although they did lose some depth when they sent DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills in a trade this past offseason.

While he is on the practice squad, other teams will be able to make moves of their own regarding Miller unless he is called up to the main team.

Meanwhile, the Bears are hoping for good news regarding Williams, who remains out of the lineup due to the hamstring strain. The team has won both games without him so far, knocking off the Jets and Philadelphia Eagles in comfortable fashion.

The Bears will next hit the field on Sunday for a divisional road game against the Green Bay Packers.
