Bayern Munich have been tipped to target Nick Woltemade as Harry Kane's surprise successor.
Kane is still banging in the goals for the time being, becoming the fastest player to 100 goals for Bayern, but at 33 the Ballon d'Or contender is heading towards the back end of his career.
And European football expert Andy Brassell reckons the German giants will eventually sign Woltemade, despite the striker's struggles at Newcastle.
Germany international Woltemade joined Newcastle from Stuttgart last summer, just before Alexander Isak left for Liverpool, and scored eight Premier League goals in his first season with the Magpies.
However, he found net just twice between the turn of the year and the end of the campaign and has since been loaned out to Juventus.
Bayern 'convinced' Woltemade would join before
Still only 24, Woltemade is theoretically yet to hit his prime years, and Brassell believes he'll make his way back to the Bundesliga with Bayern one day.
"I still think Woltemade will end up at Bayern at some point," he told talkSPORT's Hawksbee and Jacobs.
"They were convinced he would go there before Newcastle and he's had a difficult start at Juventus as well... quite a messy situation.
"They're trying to reform the front part of their team and they've ended up with this front pairing of him and Randal Kolo Muani.
"They were really out of nick in the back end of last season. It's the blind guiding the blind.
"So it is difficult as they're two good players who are trying to recover form.
"I think Bayern will be looking at that and thinking, 'We could get this guy we really wanted for maybe pennies on the pound at some point in the future."
Woltemade still waiting to get off the mark for Juve
Woltemade's two appearances for Juventus so far have been as a substitute, and he's played just 44 minutes in total.
He's only managed to muster three shots in that time, all of them off target.
His loan departure came after he had made two appearances for Newcastle early in the season.
He played the entirety of the Carabao Cup second round win over West Brom before coming off the bench to set up Yoane Wissa's goal in the 2-0 Premier League victory at Tottenham.
Nonetheless, he was loaned out to Juve on deadline day.
He'll hope to get off the mark for the Bianconeri when they host Dutch side NEC Nijmegen in their Europa League opener on Thursday.
