When star infielder Carlos Correa initially suffered an ankle injury earlier in the season, reports suggested that he wouldn't return in 2026. However, rumors begin surfacing as the season continued that Correa could end playing again before the regular season came to an end — meaning he'd be ready for the postseason. However, it turns out Correa won't play again this season after all.

“Carlos Correa will not return to the Astros this season, manager Joe Espada announced today,” Chandler Rome of The Athletic reported Tuesday.
