Asian Games 2026: India vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Semi-Final Match Preview

Both teams are coming off respective rain-marred quarter-finals.

While all the quarter-finals of the ongoing Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 were washed out, it has now come down to the final four as India (IND) and Sri Lanka (SL) are set to face off in the Second Semi-Final at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on Thursday, October 01.

India, the reigning T20 World Cup champions, were among the four teams to get a direct qualification into the knockouts of the Asian Games, courtesy of their high ICC rankings. This also helped them advance to the semis after a rain-spoilt quarter-final against Afghanistan on Tuesday. With a gold medal on target, the Men in Blue will look to come good against the neighbours in Nisshin.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, had their semi-final against Malaysia washed out as well and will now be looking to put up a show against the Men in Blue. Led by Sahan Arachchige, the Lankan Lions are without their full-strength squad, as the mainstay players are currently occupied playing white-ball series against England. However, they do have a strong line-up and will be confident of thwarting India on Thursday.
