Arizona State has struggled somewhat this year. They just fell to Texas Tech, dropping their third game of the season. J'Koby Williams of Texas Tech dominated on the ground as the Red Raiders won 53-25.

Now, head coach Kenny Dillingham is talking about the loss, being asked about fans “losing their minds” by Jakob Brook of SunDevilSource.com.

“I told my family the entire time, ‘You guys realize eventually this is going to turn.' It's the nature of the coaching profession. You've just gotta be ready for it. When your highs are so high, your lows are gonna be so low. You can't get upset or frustrated. Nobody cares what you did yesterday, they care what you do now. It doesn't bother me,” Dillingham said.

Dillingham took over at Arizona State for the 2023 season, inheriting a program in disarray. They went 3-9 that season, but Dillingham quickly turned things around. The Sun Devils went 11-3 the next year, winning the Big 12 and making a run to the College Football Playoff. They earned the four seed, but fell in the quarterfinal to Texas in double overtime. It was a slight drop-off in 2025, going 8-5 and finishing fourth in the conference.

This year, Arizona State is just 1-2 in conference play and has lost both of their games this season against ranked opponents. The schedule does not get any easier either. They host Kansas State next week, but have trips to BYU and Arizona on the calendar, as well as a home date with Oklahoma State. Regardless of the difficulty coming up, Dillingham seems to be unfazed as he prepares for the rest of the season.
