NFL teams that start the season 0-2 have significantly reduced odds of winning the Super Bowl. In fact, only three have gone on a championship run after losing back-to-back games to start the year. The Houston Texans lost in both Week 1 and Week 2, but they still have championship desires. Jason McCourty still believes Houston can get hot, and that a run is in their near future.
“I'm going to look at Houston to get hot at 0-2 and go on a run,” McCourty said on the Pat McAfee Show. “They were 0-3 last year, a season ago… I'm a believer. That defense looked like themselves against the Bengals. The offense without Nico Collins is just missing a lot. They have to figure out how to be able to run the ball, but to me they have all of the talent to be able to do it.”

A slow start was somewhat inevitable for Houston. For starters, they faced two great teams to start the season, the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals. Furthermore, the team dealt with numerous training camp/preseason/early season injuries that they've still been trying to manage. Jayden Higgins was shut down for the year before the season began, and Tank Dell is currently on the injured reserve. Plus, Nico Collins was forced to miss Week 2.
Even so, with Collins slated to return this week, and Dell's comeback in the near future, the Texans' offense still has plenty of potential. There is no denying that the defense is one of the best in the league, too.
