Andy Reid on Travis Kelce: “Pretty good for an old man”

Chiefs coach Andy Reid liked what he saw from tight end Travis Kelce on Monday night.

Kelce had one huge play, a 59-yard catch and run, in the Chiefs’ win over the Broncos, and also picked up a third-down conversion with a six-yard reception. Overall, Reid thought Kelce’s contribution was what the Chiefs needed.

“Kelce, he dusted it off, right? Three for 71 yards. Pretty good for an old man that people look crosseyed at,” Reid said.

Kelce, who turns 37 next month, has seen his production decline in the last few seasons, but that 59-yard play was his longest in five years. It was a promising start to the season for Kelce, who may prove to have another good year left in him.
