The Philadelphia Eagles are currently gearing up for their Week 3 game on the road vs the Chicago Bears. The Eagles are coming off a narrow road win over the Tennessee Titans, one in which Saquon Barkley exited with a neck issue before returning down the stretch of the game.
Now, the team has gotten the latest non-update on Barkley's status as the practice week continues.
“Nick Sirianni with no update on Saquon Barkley. Eagles will be on the practice field at 3:25 today,” reported Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP.com on X, formerly Twitter.
Many fans were concerned when Barkley exited after the very first play of the game on Sunday vs Tennessee, but thankfully, the running back was able to return later on, albeit with a reduced workload.
Instead, the Eagles relied heavily on Jalen Hurts and the passing game, and although that plan backfired at times throughout the afternoon, Hurts ended up orchestrating a game-winning drive down the field, capped off by a touchdown in the closing seconds, to push Philadelphia to 2-0 on the young season.
The Eagles will next hit the field against a Bears team that could be down to third-string quarterback Case Keenum after Caleb Williams' hamstring injury and Tyson Bagent's entry into the concussion protocol.
Still, having Barkley on the field for that game would certainly make the Eagles feel better about their chances.
The Eagles and Bears are slated to kick off on Sunday at 8:15 pm ET from the Windy City. The game will be carried by ESPN.
