Since stepping away from ESPN and the NBA breaking news cycle, Adrian Wojnarowski has been hard at work trying to build a winning program for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies as the team’s general manager. That work has started to pay off as St. Bonaventure landed the commitment of 4-star recruit Victor Aborowa, as per The Field of 68.

Victor Aborowa’s commitment gives St. Bonaventure the program’s highest ranked recruit in the era of the modern ranking system. The Bonnies have attracted top talent before, such as former NBA star Bob Lanier, but the current ranking system had not yet been established. Prior to Aborowa, St. Bonaventure’s top recruit had been former NBA first round pick Andrew Nicholson.

Adrian Wojnarowski has been general manager for the Bonnies since 2024, and he’s begun to put his mark on the program, beginning with the out-of-the-box hire of Mike MacDonald as the new head coach. The bulk of MacDonald’s experience comes from the Division 2 and Division 3 ranks, alongside nine seasons at Division 1 Canisius.

When Wojnarowski took over in his current position, Mike Schmidt was still the head coach. This past season, his final before retirement, he led the Bonnies to an overall record of 17-17, and 4-14 in Atlantic 10 play. Schmidt retired after this past year.

St. Bonaventure will be looking to get back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season. Although Aborowa, who will finish up his senior year in high school at Andrews Osborne Academcy, will not join the team until the 2027-28 season, the Bonnies are bolstered by several transfers, including a few who followed MacDonald from his previous stop at Daemen College.
