The San Francisco 49ers had a big 24-14 win against the Denver Broncos in Week 4, and the game meant more for some than others. For Dre Greenlaw, it meant revenge on his former team, and he let them know about it when the clock hit zero. Greenlaw walked up to head coach Sean Payton and had a few words for him that he shared with Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.
“I told him to get the f— off the field,” Greenlaw said. “That's it: ‘Get the f— off the field.’”
The reason Greenlaw had that energy towards Payton was the way he was treated during his year with the Broncos. After signing with the team last offseason, he had to miss the first six games of the season due to injury, and then missed the final two games of the season.
Greenlaw said that Payton stopped speaking to him, and he didn't even let him know that he was being cut earlier this offseason. He had to hear it from his agent.
“He would walk by – I would walk by – and he wouldn’t even look at me because of my injury. So I just knew what it was (with him) there,” Greenlaw said.

“I don’t even remember what I said. I blacked out a little,” Greenlaw said.
As for Payton, he said that there's no issue with Greenlaw.
“I said this to Kyle afterwards: I think the world of him,” Payton said. “I really love everything about him. He plays with that emotion. So it’s all good.”
