As Week 4 of the 2026 college football season gets ready to kick off, several star quarterbacks who are expected to be at the top of the 2027 NFL Draft face daunting games on the road. In fact, four of the top-five QB prospects will play tough road games, with Miami's Darian Mensah (home vs. Central Michigan) the only one with a seemingly “easy” matchup. So, ahead of this slate, let's look at what Arch Manning, Trinidad Chambliss, Dante Moore, and Drew Mestemaker's weekends look like and how they could affect the 2027 NFL Draft.

Arch Manning: Texas at Tennessee

Texas signal-caller Arch Manning is such an interesting case in terms of the 2027 NFL Draft. If you just look at his body of work, and his name were Arch Jones, he probably wouldn't be a first-round pick. He is incredibly talented, he showed flashes, and in the Longhorns' comeback win over Ohio State, he showed his mettle. But is that enough to be a top two or three pick?

Ultimately, Arch's last name is Manning, so he will go high in the draft, but as an NFL team, you'd like to see a little more overall and continued success in big games. Saturday against Tennessee, the No. 14 team in the land, he could show all of that.

The Vols have a solid defense that has allowed just 42 points in three games, although two of those games were against Furman and Kennesaw State. They do have a dangerous offense that Manning may have to keep pace with, and we know that Neyland Stadium is an incredibly tough place to play.

Trinidad Chambliss: Ole Miss at Florida

Trinidad Chambliss and his entire Ole Miss squad are riding high after their victory over Lane Kiffin's LSU Tigers. That leaves both the QB and team primed for a letdown game while traveling to The Swamp to face the 21st-ranked Gators.

Like Tennessee, Florida has a solid defense, although the high-end 2027 NFL Draft prospects aren't really there. However, the thing about Chambliss is that because of his small stature, he needs to show up and show out every single week to prove that he can excel against the best of the best despite not having traditional pro QB size. So, while a win over Florida won't clinch a top spot in the draft for Chambliss, a bad performance could drastically hurt his stock.

Dante Moore: Oregon at USC

Dante Moore needs to kick his 2026 season into gear, and beating Portland State 84-0 doesn't count. Moore's Ducks struggled against Boise State and lost to Oklahoma State ahead of this week's matchup with No. 12 USC. And if Moore doesn't start producing soon, staying in Oregon an extra year after he surely would have been the No. 2 overall pick in 2026 will seem like a massive mistake.

The good news for Moore is that the Ducks face USC and UCLA the next two weeks and Ohio State and Michigan in back-to-back weeks in November. That means he still has plenty of time to get back on track, but he also has opportunities to fall even further if he can't solve some of these defense problems with NFL-caliber talent.

Drew Mestemaker: Oklahoma State at West Virginia

Drew Mestemaker is making a nice transition from Ohio University to a bigger football stage at Oklahoma State. While he started his Cowboys' career with a loss to Tulsa, the upset over Oregon put him right back on track to be a top pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Consistency is the name of the game here, and if he can sling it all over the yard and continue to display some athleticism while doing it, he could rise up draft boards and even supplant Moore soon.
