Amon-Ra St. Brown injury: What status means for Week 14 vs. Cowboys
The 7-5 Detroit Lions host the 6-5-1 Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football as 3-point home favorites to start off Week 14. The Lions continue a stretch of inconsistency, while the Cowboys have come on strong of late with three wins in a row, including back-to-back wins over the two Super Bowl participants last season, the Eagles and Chiefs.
This looked like an easy win for the Lions a month ago, but no more. Plus, this week they could be without their top wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is listed as questionable.
Amon-Ra St. Brown injury updates
St. Brown was forced from last week’s Thanksgiving day game against the Packers due to an early game ankle injury. The injury doesn’t appear to be one that will keep him out multiple games, but he didn’t practice once ahead of this matchup. He is listed as questionable, but it isn’t often we see a player not practice at all and still play. Of course, it does happen sometimes, and St. Brown is a player who doesn’t need practice to be ready to play.
Fantasy football analysis
If he can play, it would be tough sitting him in such a good matchup. The Cowboys have improved defensively, but they can still be thrown on and the Lions have a truly explosive offense, especially when St. Brown is in there. If he is active, hopefully we get some in-depth reporting on just how close to 100% he is, but on face value, I’m starting him if he available.
If he can’t go, it opens up work for Tom Kennedy as a direct slot replacement and Isaac TeSlaa, who will replace Kalif Raymond, who is out this week. But overall, Jameson Williams should become a target hog and a must start in every format you can imagine.
