All-Weather Finals Day betting tips and predictions

All-Weather finals day is the most lucrative all-weather event and returns to Newcastle on Good Friday, with the event featuring seven thrilling races, as runners set to battle it out for a share of over £1million in prize money.

George Bonds has a trio of selections on the card, one in the 3 Year Old Championship, one in the Fillies’ and Mares’ Championship and finally one in the Championship Mile.

13:50 Newcastle – Ten Carat Harry @ SP

Ten Carat Harry heads into Friday’s 3 Year Old Championship Final at Newcastle as a formidable contender, boasting a remarkably consistent winter campaign for trainer Jamie Osborne.

The son of Ardad has already proven his credentials for this track, securing a decisive victory over course and distance during the Trials Day in January.

He was six wins from six runs after that victory on Trials Day, before a step up in class and trip proved too much for the three-year-old last time out.

Despite failing to maintain his perfect all-weather record, it was nevertheless a fine effort which puts him in good stead coming into this championship race, running off the same mark of 97.

He’ll concede weight to the rest of the field but finishes his races strongly and should have a great chance of winning this final.

In a race that saw an emphatic 200/1 winner last year, I am looking a lot closer to the head of the market for this renewal and it’s difficult to look past leading contender Statiera for the Fillies’ and Mares’ Championship.

Andrew Balding’s filly boasts a flawless two wins from two record at Newcastle, including when landing the trial for this race over course and distance back in January. The four-year-old demonstrated an impressive turn of foot that day and was able to kick on readily and cruise to a four-length victory.

That performance hasn’t gone unnoticed, with the handicapper sticking Balding’s charge with a 10lb rise. However, there is every chance the filly has the ability to defy that sharp rise, with the best potentially yet to come for the four-year-old.

15:00 Newcastle – Chancellor @ SP

Chancellor enters the All-Weather Championships Mile with strong claims. The John & Thady Gosden-trained gelding has proven his class on the all-weather, finishing inside the top two on all four of his runs on the surface.

The four-year-old has looked revitalised since undergoing a wind operation, notably when claiming victory in the Tandridge Stakes at Southwell.

While he narrowly missed out in the Winter Derby over 10 furlongs last time out, he was only headed late on, suggesting that dropping back to a mile should play more to his strengths.

He arrives to the final at Newcastle on Friday 2lb lower than at Lingfield and should be in a great position to claim victory here.
