Alex Pereira brings father to tears with thoughtful gift

Alex Pereira brought his father to tears when he gifted him a brand new golf cart.

Pereira has been out of action since he reclaimed his light heavyweight belt from Magomed Ankalaev in October.

The 38-year-old suffered a broken foot in the process of securing his impressive win at UFC 320.

As he navigates the road to recovery, various aspects of the reigning champion’s personal life have garnered attention online.

Pereira initially caused a stir by revealing that he is in a relationship with fellow UFC star Tracy Cortez.

Now, he has uploaded a clip to social media that shows the moment he surprises his father with a brand new golf cart.

He captioned the post: “Very happy to be able to present my dad with this gift, he deserves it a lot because he stopped having his own things to be able to raise seven children.

“Thank you, Dad.”

In 2024, Pereira bought his parents an incredible mansion in Brazil using some of his UFC earnings.

‘Poatan’ has now added the golf cart to a list of gifts that he has given his biggest supporters over the years.

While fans have welcomed the rare insights into Pereira’s personal life, they have also called for an update on his comeback.

Pereira’s next opponent is still believed to be undecided, but he has been linked to multiple fighters recently.

What is next for Alex Pereira in the UFC?

Carlos Ulberg is the assumed frontrunner to challenge Pereira next for his light heavyweight crown.

But in the aftermath of his last win, Pereira called out Jon Jones for a fight up at heavyweight on the UFC White House card.

Jones had made it clear that he was keen to fight at the White House, having already reversed his retirement decision.

So, it was no surprise that he verbally agreed to fight the light heavyweight champion.

Although ‘Poatan’ posted an image of himself with UFC CEO Dana White last month, that suggests that it is no longer an option.

He captioned the image: “Looks like the White House is a NO GO!!!”

The official match-up announcements for the prestigious event are expected to be made by White next month.
