Aaron Rodgers, Steelers choke vs. Browns to keep Ravens alive
On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers had a golden opportunity to win the AFC North division title with a road game against the lowly Cleveland Browns. The Baltimore Ravens stayed alive temporarily with a road win over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night, but the Steelers still could have closed the door with a win on Sunday in Cleveland.
Instead, the Steelers managed to put only six points on the board against the Browns, and ultimately fell by a final score of 13-6
The Steelers had several shots into the end zone at the end of this game after Aaron Rodgers led a late drive down the field, but unfortunately, none of them ended up successful, with Rodgers looking for and missing Marquez Valdez-Scantling multiple times at the end of the game.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN noted that Rodgers picked a heck of a cornerback to try to target at the end of the game.
“Going at Denzel Ward on three straight downs is a choice,” wrote Fowler on X, formerly Twitter.
The Steelers now face a do or die game next week against the Ravens at home, with the winner earning the AFC North division crown and getting the opportunity to play a postseason game in front of their home fans.
The Steelers beat the Ravens on the road earlier this year, and it will be interesting to see if Lamar Jackson is able to go in this one, as he missed Saturday’s game against the Packers due to a back injury.
In any case, the start time for Pittsburgh vs Baltimore next week has yet to be announced.
