The inaugural Worldwide Masters League (IML T20), set to start on February 22, will carry collectively six cricketing giants – India, England, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies – in a 19-day spectacle spanning three Indian cities.
Event Construction and Venues
The league will kick off with 15 high-octane round-robin fixtures throughout Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, Vadodara’s Reliance Enviornment and Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Complicated.
Groups will vie for a spot within the championship decider, slated for March 16, in Raipur.
Forward of the event, cricket royalty gathered at DY Patil College for the IML T20 Captains’ Day. Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar shared the stage with Sri Lanka veteran Kumar Sangakkara, West Indies’ batting maestro Brian Lara, England’s 2019 World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan, Australian star all-rounder Shane Watson, and South African stalwart Jonty Rhodes, who stood in for captain Jacques Kallis. The occasion highlighted the league’s ethos of mixing legacy with aggressive spirit.
