50-year-old UFC icon Anderson Silva scores brutal showboat KO over Tyron Woodley on Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua undercard
Anderson Silva rolled back the years to knock out Tyron Woodley on the Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua undercard on Friday night.
After a cagey start, the 50-year-old jolted to life in the second round, as he walked down Woodley, tapped his shoe and landed a monstrous right uppercut.

The shot stumbled Woodley backwards against the ropes before a flurry of follow-up shots sent the former UFC welterweight champion tumbling to the canvas face-first.
Woodley, 43, made his way back to his feet, but when he did, he was caught on unsteady legs, resulting in the fight being waved off.
In defeat, Woodley’s professional boxing record drops to 0-3, while Silva’s improves to 4-2.
Both men hold losses to Paul in the paid ranks, with Woodley becoming the first man to take the YouTuber-turned-boxer the distance in August 2021 before suffering a brutal knockout six months later.
Silva was then dropped and outpointed in October 2022 following a bright start from the veteran.
Speaking in the immediate aftermath of his victory over Woodley, ‘The Spider’ confirmed that he would continue fighting deep into his fifties while juggling a new career.
“I keep going,” said Silva. “I go back to work right now and start my police academy.
“I’m going to become a police officer. I need to give something back to the US.”
The UFC Hall of Famer then called for his fight with Chris Weidman to be re-booked after the fellow MMA icon was forced out of the contest three weeks out from fight night.
Anderson Silva calls out Chris Weidman
“If you are Spiderman, who is your Venom?” said Silva.
“Well, my Venom is Chris Weidman. Chris, I know you hurt your arm, bro, and I’m waiting for you to get better.
“And let’s go and put on a show. Let’s show what ex-UFC fighters can do in boxing.
“Respect the boxing community, that is the most important thing.
“I am waiting for you, Chris. See you, buddy, say hi to your family, God bless you.”
Anderson Silva’s rivalry with Chris Weidman revisited
Silva’s remarkable 2,457-day reign as middleweight champion came to an end at the hands of Weidman in July 2013, when the American shocked the world by knocking out the Brazilian superstar.
When they ran it back five months later, Silva suffered a horrific broken leg after Weidman checked one of his leg kicks in the second round.

Since then, Silva has been chomping at the bit to exact his revenge and was handed the opportunity to do so on the Silva vs Gervonta Davis undercard until the event was canned.
A lot of the undercard bouts were carried over to the Paul vs Joshua bill.
However, Weidman suffered an arm injury, resulting in Woodley replacing him on short notice.
